New User/Password Authentication
Press Release
Copenhagen, December 12th, 2011

Metaconomy, the only provider of hosted Identity and Access Intelligence for Forefront Identity Manager 2010 (FIM 2010), this week released its self-service password reset tool for Metaconomy Compliance Reporter on Azure, kicking OpenID into touch.

“OpenID support through the Azure Access Control Service (ACS) is a great concept for managing non-critical low level applications where universal login from Google, Yahoo or Live ID is an acceptable level of security”, affirmed Richard Blackham, CEO at Metaconomy. “We surveyed our Beta customers and found their biggest concern was security and their lack of comfort with browser cached credentials when security compliance is the purpose of the application. We removed support for OpenID last week and released a self-service user name and password solution with support for lost passwords and password change. It took us ten days to write the tool for Azure. It’s our third self-service password reset tool in four years”.

Metaconomy Compliance Reporter displays normalized FIM 2010 data via a browser on subscription to users with relevant viewing rights. The data can be simple reports about users, groups and access rights, but could equally be security compliance audit-ready attestation reviews recorded over time.this data needs a higher level of protection. Metaconomy’s roadmap includes strengthening viewer access further with two-factor authentication and the return to ACS to support federation.

Press Release
Los Angeles, CA, July 11th , 2011.

Attendees at the Microsoft Worldwide Partner Conference 2011 (WPC11) are learning about this year’s theme, “Winning Together”, and Azure cloud-based compliance reporting provider Metaconomy is showing them how.

Metaconomy has announced their innovative ‘Referring Partner’ model to make life easier for customer acquisition and management. “Metaconomy’s goal is to deliver the easiest possible experience for everyone, from customers to business line managers and support staff, but most especially for our partners,” says Wade Ellery, North American President for Metaconomy, “By doing this for our partners we have virtually eliminated all the overhead and administration effort of the traditional resale model.”

Metaconomy’s partners simply register themselves on the Metaconomy website and receive their unique Referrer Code. Whenever a referred customer registers for either the FREE 30 day trial or a full subscription for Metaconomy’s Cloud based Compliance Reporting for Forefront Identity Manager 2010 (FIM2010) service, the Referrer Code will link that customer to the partner. From that time forward all referral revenue generated by that customer from Metaconomy services is automatically credited to the partner’s Metaconomy account. The partner can review the status of their referred customers online, and may at any time request an electronic transfer of accumulated funds.

Metaconomy’s Compliance Reporting for FIM2010 delivers comprehensive current and historical reporting for FIM2010 in just a few minutes, without the need for heavy infrastructure investment or vendor integration services. Out of the box reports address the primary auditing and attestation requirements of most companies. The intuitive OpenID web interface built around the Azure Access Control Service, and the point and click reports, both deliver immediate value to business and technical users alike.

“Bringing the same streamlined approach we use in our award winning services to our Referrer Partner program has eliminated the overhead of managing client referrals. The reduction of investment in the sales cycle is critical to helping our partners maximize bottom line revenue for their referrals” says Wade Ellery, “With these improvements the Metaconomy referrer program delivers a good slice of our subscription based revenue stream to our partners at almost zero cost for the lifetime of the customer engagement. We have reached our goal of removing yet another barrier to adoption.”
